When the Sun Dips

At the end of the day, I find myself lingering in the exhale of the farm. 
Pace softens. Details fade.
Grasses take on a glow and the sheep drift toward one another. The garden slips into shadow.
After the last swing of the gate, there is stillness. 
As evening settles over the land, bats begin their day, a gentle reminder that we have crossed a threshold and the farm continues in its own way.
